MODNI uses two devices by CLASSYS: Volnewmer (6.78 MHz monopolar radiofrequency, RF) and Shurink Universe (high-intensity focused ultrasound, HIFU; sold abroad as Ultraformer MPT). The difference is that RF delivers heat to a relatively broad range of skin layers, while focused ultrasound concentrates energy at a set depth to create small thermal coagulation points. Which procedure suits you, and whether you need one at all, is decided in consultation after checking your skin thickness and firmness, areas of sagging, facial shape and past procedures.
What we review together in consultation
- Skin condition
- We check skin thickness and firmness, dryness and sensitivity, and whether there is inflammation or an active skin condition.
- Facial shape
- We look at your contours, where sagging has developed, and left–right differences. MODNI's perspective of examining facial balance carries over into skin consultations.
- Areas of concern and expectations
- We listen to which areas bother you most, the changes you hope for and when you need to return to daily activities, and explain what is realistically possible.
- Past procedures
- We check the timing and areas of fillers, Botox, thread lifts and other energy-based procedures.

Even for the same concern, the suitable method depends on your skin condition, and sometimes both procedures are planned together. We advise you after the consultation.
Together with our perspective on facial balance
MODNI's care has long examined the left–right shape and movement of the face. In skin consultations, too, we look at which side sags more and how the contours flow, and decide the treatment areas and order accordingly.
However, RF and focused ultrasound procedures act on the skin and subcutaneous tissue; they do not correct the shape of bone or skeletal facial asymmetry. If skeletal differences concern you, we also guide you to facial asymmetry care or a consultation with the relevant specialty.
Factors that affect whether treatment is appropriate
- Condition of the treatment area
- If there is inflammation, a wound or an active skin condition, treatment is postponed.
- Implanted electronic devices or metal
- Be sure to tell us before any RF procedure if you have an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker, or metal in the treatment area.
- Previous procedures
- Recent fillers, Botox or thread lifts can affect the treatment plan depending on their timing and area.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- We do not treat during pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding, please tell us at the consultation.
- Current medications
- Please tell us if you take medicines that thin the blood or make the skin more sensitive.
Treatment areas, shot counts and fees
Treatment areas, the number of shots, and the cartridge and tip configuration are explained individually after we check your skin in consultation. We do not recommend fixed packages in advance. Fees will be posted on the non-covered fees page as each item is confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better, Volnewmer or Shurink Universe?
Rather than one being better than the other, they work in different ways. After checking your skin thickness and firmness, areas of sagging and when you need to return to daily activities, we advise on the suitable method.
Is one session enough?
It depends on your skin condition and goals. Results and how long they last vary between individuals, and the interval and number of sessions are explained at the consultation.
Can I return to daily life right after treatment?
Most people return to daily activities right away, but there may be temporary redness, swelling or a feeling of tightness. We will explain how to care for your skin on the day.
Will it also improve facial asymmetry?
RF and focused ultrasound procedures act on the skin and subcutaneous tissue, and do not correct asymmetry caused by the shape of bone. If left–right differences in your face concern you, we recommend having them checked first in facial asymmetry care.
